Worcestershire have gone from the highs and lows of wins and losses, having results of WLWL in their first four games of the season, but if they manage to win against the Lightning, they have a chance of going up to two today.

Lancashire Lightning:

The Lightning started off their season with three wins in three, but the next two games, they incurred two losses, even post this loss of form, they are still ranked second in the North Group.

Players to Watch:

Worcestershire Rapids:

Ben Dwarshuis – the Australian has been in incredible form, he has an average of 91 and struck at 162.5, and contributed with five wickets at 25.4!

Adam Hose – after a tough start to the season, Hose has picked up the pace, having scored 189 runs in four games, averaging 47.25 and having struck at 156.19 and he has hit the most sixes for Worcestershire this season.

Jacob Duffy – he has taken seven wickets in four games, averaging 18.14 and shown why he is considered amongst the best bowlers going around in the world right now, and he seems set to continue his dominance.

Lancashire Lightning:

James Anderson – with seven wickets in three games, James Anderson looks like a player who was never away, averaging 10.14 and going at just 6.45 an over, he has been as good as ever.

Liam Livingstone – while he had a tough time at the IPL, Livingstone rallied and contributed well in the last Lancashire game, two wickets and 18 runs, he will be hoping to continue his all-round contributions this season.

Keaton Jennings – the form batter for Lancashire, he has made 224 runs in five games, averaging 44.8 and striking at 173.64 this season of the Blast.

Head-to-Head (Last 5 Matches):

New Road has been a good batting venue, but the average score that went down in 2024 seems to have rebounded in 2025, with an average score back up to 195.

Batting second gives you a minor advantage, but otherwise, it remains fairly steady, with both spinners and fast bowlers having enjoyed decent success at the venue, bowling in the powerplay is key, with more wickets falling!

Northamptonshire Steelbacks vs Durham - 13th June

Here are the Fantasy Cricket Predictions and Betting Tips for the Vitality Blast 2025, North Group, 44th match - Northamptonshire Steelbacks vs Durham, to be played on the 13th of June, 2025 at Wantage Road, Northampton.

Match Details:

Date: Friday, 13th June 2025.

Venue: Wantage Road, Northampton.

Start Time: 6:30 PM BST

Current Form:

Northamptonshire Steelbacks:

The Steelbacks have been unstoppable this season, the runaway leaders of the competition, they have played six and won six, sitting at the top with 24 points, while Lancashire are at second with 12 points. Everyone has chipped in all through the season and the Steelbacks have had a complete team performance time and time again.

Durham:

Two wins and two losses, Durham have been up and down all through the season, but Ben Raine has not stopped performing all through the season, it is a tough task, but with some brilliance, Durham may be able to stop the Northamptonshire runaway train.

Players to Watch:

Northamptonshire Steelbacks:

Justin Broad – the German international has scored 149 runs in five games, but crucially, struck at 163.73, adding much needed impetus for the Steelbacks and when he finally got a bowl, he struck in his only over.

Ben Sanderson – with 17 wickets in six games, Sanderson has established a massive gap between himself and the next best bowler in the competition, the most impressive part of his performance being his economy of 6.45 and a strike rate of 8.4!

David Willey – the Steelbacks skipper has scored 204 runs in six games, and contributed with 11 wickets, the former England international has made his presence felt all through the competition.

Durham:

Ben Raine – someone who could contend with Ben Sanderson in two games time, Raine has made wickets rain. 11 wickets at an average of 9.18 and economy of 6.51, he has been unplayable all season.

Zak Foulkes – Foulkes has taken just five wickets, but it’s his economy bowling the tough overs that stands out, an average of 19.2 is good, but an economy of 6.4 bowling in the powerplay and death is great.

Oliver Robinson – With 138 runs in four games, Robinson has looked like the form batter for Durham this season, with the rest having failed to cross 100 runs so far this season.

Head-to-Head (Last 5 Matches):

  • Northamptonshire Steelbacks - 3 wins

  • Durham - 2 wins

The Steelbacks have won three out of their last five games, and they look well placed to add another win, with the form they have been in as Durham have been up and down.

Venue Stats - Wantage Road, Northampton (2022-2025):

Average 1st Innings Score:

  • 2022 - 183.88

  • 2023 - 176.57

  • 2024 - 182.43

  • 2025 - 122.00

Bowling Averages and Economy Rates:

  • Fast Bowlers – Average – 24.73; Economy Rate – 8.78.

  • Spin Bowlers – Average – 29.01; Economy Rate – 8.54.

Wickets Percentage based on Innings:

  • Team Win Percentage when Batting First - 57.15%

  • Team Win Percentage when Batting Second - 42.85%

Wickets Per Innings:

  • First Innings – 6.43 wickets

  • Second Innings – 6.52 wickets

Wickets per Phase:

  • Powerplay (Overs 1–6): 1.78 wickets

  • Middle Overs (Overs 7–15): 2.54 wickets

  • Death Overs (Overs 16–20): 2.25 wickets

Wantage Road has been a good place to bat on, with the average first innings scores hovering around 180, and the death overs have been really productive, with the average wickets in this phase lower than at most venues.

Bowling spin is a difficult task at Wantage Road, with similar economies to the quick bowlers but a much higher average, while good spinners will be able to adapt, it is a venue where bowling pace will be easier.

Nottinghamshire Outlaws vs Derbyshire Falcons - 13th June

Here are the Fantasy Cricket Predictions and Betting Tips for the Vitality Blast 2025, North Group, 45th match - Nottinghamshire Outlaws vs Derbyshire Falcons, to be played on the 13th of June, 2025 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Match Details:

Date: Friday, 13th June 2025.

Venue: Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Start Time: 6:30 PM BST

Current Form:

Nottinghamshire Outlaws:

The Outlaws come into this game placed fifth in the North Group table, with two wins and three losses to their name. They will hope for a quick turnaround in fortunes after having lost two in two games.

Derbyshire Falcons:

They have been rooted to the bottom of the table, with five games and five losses, none of their batters have been able to come to the fore and lead from the front.

Players to Watch:

Nottinghamshire Outlaws:

Joe Clarke – the captain of the Outlaws has scored his runs at an average of 30.4 while striking at 167.03, with two fifties in five games, the Outlaws will want another performance out of him.

Liam Patterson-White – the left-armer has done well with seven wickets in five innings, at an average of 16.57 and he has contributed with the bat too, averaging 29 and striking at 165.71.

Dillon Pennington – the leading wicket taker for the Outlaws, Pennington has nine strikes in five innings, while a bit expensive, going at 10.16 an over, he takes a wicket once every 12 balls.

Derbyshire Falcons:

Ross Whiteley – The southpaw has scored 146 runs in five games for the Falcons, at an average of 36.5 and struck at 139.04, the only batter to show any signs of form.

AM Ghazanfar – the only bright spot for the Falcons with ball in hand, their Afghan import in Ghazanfar is doing the trick with seven wickets in five innings at an average of 20 and an economy of just 7.36.

Wayne Madsen – while he hasn’t hit the sort of peaks he would like to, Madsen has scored 132 runs in his five games, averaged 26.4 and chipped in consistently, if he manages to go the distance, the Falcons will find themselves in a good position.

Head-to-Head (Last 5 Matches):

  • Nottinghamshire Outlaws - 4 wins

  • Derbyshire Falcons - 1 win

The Falcons have been outclassed by the Nottinghamshire Outlaws in these matchups, with three of these victories being by a massive margin.

Venue Stats - Trent Bridge, Nottingham (2022-2025):

  • Powerplay (Overs 1–6): 1.95 wickets

  • Middle Overs (Overs 7–15): 2.70 wickets

  • Death Overs (Overs 16–20): 2.70 wickets

Trent Bridge is a traditionally high scoring ground, rewarding batters with positive intent. However, bowlers who hit the right areas can make an impact, more so in the middle and the death overs.

The spinners have bowled quite similarly to the fast bowlers here, with no real difference in the pitch as it remains conducive to both kinds of bowling.

Yorkshire vs Birmingham Bears - 13th June

Here are the Fantasy Cricket Predictions and Betting Tips for the Vitality Blast 2025, North Group, 46th match - Yorkshire vs Birmingham Bears, to be played on the 13th of June, 2025 at Headingley, Leeds.

Match Details:

Date: Friday, 13th June 2025.

Venue: Headingley, Leeds.

Start Time: 6:30 PM BST

Current Form:

Yorkshire:

With two wins in two games, the White Roses look like they are finally finding some form, the performances from their skipper will be particularly promising as they beat a strong Nottinghamshire side to notch their second victory of the season.

Birmingham Bears:

The Bears have had individual contributions, but not a team effort, as they slump to the 8th spot in the North Group with just two wins and three losses in their five games so far, but a win on the day could take them up to a spot as high as 4!

Players to Watch:

Yorkshire:

Dawid Malan – the former England international and the Blast skipper for Yorkshire has finally found his touch, averaging 157 and striking at 163.54 in his last three games, the skipper has led the White Roses from the front.

Dom Bess – having a season to remember with the ball in hand, Bess has picked up nine wickets at a miserly average of 16.11 and has gone at just 7.63 an over, as he keeps building the pressure on the opposition.

Jack White – back from injury, White began well, coming back into the Blast with a four wicket haul and he has historically performed well in the competition, even before his move to Yorkshire.

Birmingham Bears:

Hassan Ali – he’s made immediate impact with the ball, he’s only played in three of the five games, but is already the leading wicket taker for the Bears, with nine wickets, at an average of just 11.22, combining well with their spin attack.

Moeen Ali – in his final season of professional cricket, Moeen has put on a display with the ball, his powers have not waned, and he has taken five wickets in four games at 19.4 and contributed with 75 runs in four innings so far.

Sam Hain – the best batter in the Bears squad, he has scored 183 runs in five innings this season, while his outputs in the last three games have dipped, Hain’s consistency ensures he finds a way to bounce back and put on a massive score once again.

Head-to-Head (Last 5 Matches):

  • Yorkshire - 0 wins

  • Birmingham Bears - 5 wins

The Birmingham Bears have won all games against the White Roses in their last five matchups, but these games have been very closely contested and we can expect yet another tight battle!

Venue Stats - Headingley, Leeds (2022-2025):

Average 1st Innings Score:

  • 2022 - 185.57

  • 2023 - 197.71

  • 2024 - 164.14

  • 2025 - 225.00

Bowling Averages and Economy Rates:

  • Fast Bowlers – Average – 28.4; Economy Rate – 9.76.

  • Spin Bowlers – Average – 31.82; Economy Rate – 8.59.

Wickets Percentage based on Innings:

  • Team Win Percentage when Batting First - 65.2%

  • Team Win Percentage when Batting Second - 34.8%

Wickets Per Innings:

  • First Innings – 6.33 wickets

  • Second Innings – 6.04 wickets

Wickets per Phase:

  • Powerplay (Overs 1–6): 1.50 wickets

  • Middle Overs (Overs 7–15): 2.43 wickets

  • Death Overs (Overs 16–20): 2.56 wickets

Headingley had seen a steady decline in the average first innings score, but with 2025, the average first innings score has shot up to 225, and it looks like Headingley is back to being batter friendly.

While both, Fast Bowlers and Spin Bowlers have struggled, it’s been a larger struggle for the Spin Bowlers, with a difference of almost four runs per wicket they take.

Match Prediction - Yorkshire v Birmingham Bears

Squads:

Yorkshire: Dawid Malan ©, Harry Duke (WK), Dom Bess, Jafer Chohan, Ben Coad, Will Luxton, Adam Lyth, Dan Moriarty, Will O’Rourke, Matty Revis, George Hill, Will Sutherland, Jonny Tattersall, James Wharton and Jack White.
